Group,
Had fun on Quinte these past days. Although the overall time spent fishing was limited between 4 - 5 hours... it was grand.
Those hours were split between late Sunday morning and late Monday morning... across from Pickerel Park ( of course ).
Caught only one and thankfully it was under the slot. I am proud to say my 5-year old son caught it!!! (Home-brewed crawler harness 6mm Raspberry beads, #4 Willow blade with some Raspberry Witchstix tape.
The walleye was caught in 11 feet of water. The water seemed to be at least in the high 50's if not the low 60's.
I heard of others going to this spot and using suspending crank baits on slow drifts as well. Seems that orange belly shad colors are doing well. They were using a crank and hang style... bringing the bait down, letting it suspend for a few moments, then pumping it a few times before bringing it back in. Sounds good to me.
Good luck to all with the upcoming Bass season. I be back up in Autumn when the big pigs start working their way back in.
