Hi all , I can't believe I missed this board. Oh well better late than never.
I go by Sirfishalot and that name speaks for itself. I enjoy catching all species of fish especially Walleye.
I am coming to Hay bay this coming monday with my elderly father , this could possibly be his last trip ( I hope not) as he is very ill. I want to make this a memorable trip so I am asking you the board members for any and all advice on hooking a few of these delicious fish. We travelled to the narrows many years ago and had a wonderful time but have never fished Hay bay. I have purchased a digital cam for the trip so I can capture some memories. Thanx in advance.......Sirfishalot. :)

Hi sirfsalot
Th fish are scattered. Try trolling near ram island or the deep flats of hay bay near the HUGE boat house on the north shore. One previous post had someone doing well at shermans point trolling....Larry

Larry:
Has there been any sign of the shad showing up yet. Coming down the 1st weekend of June and am always nervous of the shad showing up and spoiling the bite.

I also visited the Bay with an elderly Father and we had a very nice time together. We caught some nice fish and I had the camera along with a video camera for some live action.
We fished in Telegraph Narrows much of the time with much of our success in that area. We trolled most of the time using deep diving crankbaits and the time of day did not seem to be a factor during our stay of May 24 thru May 27.
Since the holiday weekend was over the boat traffic was very light and we had a very enjoyable time together and I hope the same for you and you Dad.
Good luck to both of you and be safe.

There are no shad at this time. It would be unusual to see shad till the end of june....Larry
