This is a long Post - sorry for the length

Began fishing the 27th, seeing a flotilla of boats on the point and in the cove across from Blakewoods, decided to have a go over there.

Landed 3 (15/16/17') on the Orange Uzick in 35 mins - what a start!

Met a group from U of Guelph and another pair staying at Blakewoods, some were catching fish - some weren't. Passed the secret technique and headed for some exploration.

Ram Is / Pump House at Pig Farm / South Shore Launch area / Kingscourt WeedBed / Carp Cove, make a couple passes at each place with no results. Tried Shermans and hit an 18", culled a fish, back to the camp at 1630. Fished the evening on the Bayview Shoal and the point - Which shall receive a name that John Mylinski (Old John to some) called WagonWheel Point as there used to be a pair of wagonwheels at the waters edge. Didn't get anything, but heard of a 30" fish caught close to Bayview Resort.

Friday the 28th dawned early as I was going fishing with the WebMeister- Dan Elliott to spend the day pre-fishing for Sunday's Tournament in Desronto.

Headed off to Long Reach, making the trip from Bayview Resort to Long Reach in record time in Dan's Ranger - quite quick

We trolled the west shore, over Ken's Mountain heading for the radio tower. This is a quick capsule of the days fishing- Superdad got 3 on the Orange Uzick. A brief stop for eye protection and a quick run to Mallory Bay - Nothing happening there, Thompsons Cove - no action, back to High bluffs on west shore.

Dan got a 25" on his favourite worm spinner combo.

Superdad lost a 25"+ fish at the net and we got a bunch of smaller fish also. Total for the day was 10 fish.

Back to Launch Ramp at 1500 - Quite a day. I would like to thank Dan for taking me fishing with him. It was a treat, we shared much info and had a great day.

Fished the evening with my Dad on the Bayview Shoal and WagonWheel Pt, we struck out.

Saturday- May 29th we were out to fish at 0745, fishing near the light house ar Shermans, I hit a 15" on a Chartrueuse Uzick at 0810 and my Dad hit a 20" on the Orange Uzick at 0820. Quite a start.

We trolled around the west shore and made a pass at Shermans around 1045, I hit a 5.4 lb Pike on the Chartruese Uzick with a 1/4 oz bullet, released it.

We felt that the conditions had changed and so we switched to crank baits, from 1155 til 1230, I landed three on a CC Shad and my Dad had one on a Talidancer. Plus we had several solids strikes but they didn't hook up and two very unusual bumps. Back to Camp at 1300 with the wind picking up.

The wind kept us off the waterin the afternoon and in the evening also.

Sunday - May 30th, we headed out to fish at 0800 and headed to the flats at the east end of Hay Bay. Over 35 boats from the fancy boat house to the eastern side. We saw one net over the side and it was ours as my Dad picked a 15" on the Orange Uzick. It was way to quiet, so we motored back to Shermans. As we arrived, we saw one of the tournament boats with a double header on in-line boards. Half way across the reach, I got a 22" on a Chartruese Uzick with a 1/4 oz bullet.

Trolling around the cove by the cottages, my Dad hit a 19" fish as the water deepened, he also lost a heavy fish as the hook came out before we could get a glimpse of it. I got a couple more on the Chartruse lure and Ken & Jo joined the group over there and as we were talking on the FRS, I hit another on a CC Shad. We had a couple of strikes also.

Sunday afternoon the wind blew again, so we stayed ashore and goofed off.

Monday -May 31, I went fishing solo at 0915,heading back to Long Reach. Dave Chatterton's charter came by and they hit three fish in about 150 yds. I couldn't get a bite on the spinner, so I headed north along the bluffs with a CC Shad and hit a nice 21" (3.4 lbs). Back to Camp at 1245 ans the South-east wind made the trip from Shermans to Ram about 25 mins long. Wind didn't die so I stayed ashore.

Tuesday - June 1st - Didn't fish, worked around and pulled the boat in the afternoon.

A real good week of fishing and companionship. Looking forward to another week from the 7th til the 13th with my son, who'se being craving a fishing trip to Hay Bay.

Best to all this coming weekend and thanks to the many who are sharing their experiences with all us and all the lurkers.
