Gentlemen,

This board comes highly recommended from others on the net, and I never thought being from the Quinte area originally, that there would be such an inclusive forum. Hat off!!! My dad and I are going to try West Lake for a day or two on the 22/23/24 Sept/02 and was wondering if anyone has been out on that lake recently or has heard of any fishing reports or has any recommendations on lures/presentation for that lake. I have heard Superdad and Hay Bay Larry do well for the last couple of months on this board, since I have discovered it, where exactly are you guys putting in at and could you give me directions how to get there? My dad is very familiar with area, although we have normally fished the Trent/east side of the bay and have never really fished west of Belleville. If West lake doesn't pan out, we are definitely considering west of Bellevile, the Narrows or another highly recommended location. I am coming from Waterloo and this is going to be our annual father son trip and I want to make the best of it. Thanks for any help you can throw my way.

Cheers, Chris.

Chris,

The closest areas I have fished with regard to those you mentioned, would be the "cable" and the shoals within the reach, just South of Forrester's Island. I have a friend who has fished that entire area on both immediate sides of telegraph Narrows this season. He has done real well, however the earlier season was better for numbers.

The areas I fish are even further South. They include the areas around Sherman's, Mallory, ESSROC, and even back in Hay Bay. I'll be up this coming Friday through Monday for our grand finale.

I'll post what I find out and how we do.

Tight Lines are cool... but I prefer a real soft tip and Fireline

Chris i fish the same areas as susquinola. The fishing this season as last season has been excellent. As of late things are a bit slow. However the wicked thunder and lightning storm that blew through last night should stir things up! The water temp friday evening was 70 degrees which was down a bit from the high of 73 degrees. Saturday the temp. went up to 72 degrees. As the temp. falls things will get better. The mallory bay area over towards the cement plant and shermans point will only get better in the weeks ahead. The west side of long reach in that area has also proven productive.

Launch your boat in downtown picton the ramp is excellent and the price quite reasonable.
Good luck!...Larry
