Launched out of Picton at 8am and headed straight for the gap. While motoring down bumped into Tom Gustar who had already landed a bunch of fish. I set up right in the gap and gave it an hour. It was rough and when I lost my drift sock and couldnt troll slow enough I pulled up and headed back to aldophus town. Fortunately I had a second sock onboard but a smaller one which didnt quite slow me down enough unless I trolled into the wind. For the day we went 4/7 as well as few drum too.

The guy I took out doesnt like to use boards so he flatlined and I used the boards. 3 of the fish came on the boards and one on the flatline. At one point the flag dropped and the board was skipping across the water. I grabbed the rod and it as tearing line out. I tried to slow it down and had my buddy throw it in neutral. It still kept going and I thought I am going to lose the Dr and the board if I dont turn it around. It stripped more line and I see the knot on the spool and decide the only thing I can do is clamp down and hold on. I did so and managed to pop the Dr and save the board. When i got the lure back in it had a big white scace on the hook. I guess I foul hooked a big drum

Most of the fish came on the firetiger storm thundercrank but also one on the Manns and one on a deep diver rouge. The Manns was the firetiger crystal glow.

Great report Dan :!:

Sorry to hear about the bag. Sounds like it could've been worse, if you'd lost the board too :!: 8O

At least you managed some fish that's the best part :!:
