Quinte Fishing

The last time I fished the bay we were getting 40 to 50 km winds and got blown off for safety reasons. It was quite rough in the Reach.

I'm just wondering if the winds there calling for on Saturday are going to be unsafe especially this late in the year.

The forcast is SW 40 km/h on Saturday and SW 5 km/h on Sunday. Just wondering if wind direction makes a big difference on the size of waves that build up?

I'm not an expert on the wind but if it gets up on the bay no direction is good. If launching at Glenora north is very very bad, east or west is bad if alone. With a sw wind u can follow the high shoreline and reach some very good water. Remeber conditions can change in minutes. Size of your boat and driving skill is a big factor also.
I plan on going Sat. and possibly Sun.

Sw winds are nasty at the speed. You might consider staying home till sunday

Thanks guys very much for the info. I really appreciate it. I will be a regular on the bay next year now that I have family in the area.
