This is the second trip ever to the bay, the first was a few weeks ago and absolutely had to come back. We stayed at the Tip of the Bay Motel both times and was nice having a dock/ramp and food close buy.

We caught 23 fish over 3 days of fishing. Caught them in front of Cement Factory, Thompson's Point, Keith's shoal and the lighthouse and some areas in between. We tried out around the ferry, power plants, and somewhere in the middle of the bay looking for more active fish. Most of the fish came from 8 - 12 in the morning, only caught a few night trolling. Best area for us was around Keith's Shoal, but had to work for them. We had a couple double's and one triple. So the action was far and between but furious when we found an active pod of fish. All fish came from lures running 30 - 32' down (except for the few that came at night which had no pattern since we only caught a few) but had to work on colors, speeds, and different lures.

But you guys have an awesome fishery. Only 5 of the 23 fish were under 10, with 7 over 11, but we only managed 3 over 12. We haven't broken the 13lb barrier. Forgot the digital camera but brought the old film version, so will take awhile to get pictures scanned in. I will also post some pic's from our earlier trip.

I want to thank you guys for help in getting me a flotation suit. It was awesome, warm and secure. Felt good wearing it especially when I was fishing alone last Sunday night and the inner Picton bay froze over. It is not something I dream of doing again. But for another idea, I bought a snowmobile helmet for those long/cold/wet runs. I have a tiller and was a joy having a warm/dry face w/o tears running. I loved my new suit, but that helmet has already saved my butt, I mean head. Anyway, if anybody has any specific questions, feel free to e-mail them to stormsearch@comcast.net. And thanks for the CJ's pizza recommendation - good stuff.

WOW! That's a lot of fish Stormsearch. Way to go!
I have only ever done 1 day trips to the bay but next year I am definitely doing a multi day trip.

Congradulations on the great fish!
