Quinte Fishing

Hello. This is my first time on this board, and i was wondering if someone could please give me an update on the ice conditions in Belleville. In particular, cow island. I am driving 3 hours to fish this spot and would really appreciate knowing what the ice conditions are like.

WOW thats funny, I too am coming threes hrs away(Montreal) to fish for the weekend and I will be fishing either Petes Point which is the shoreline south of cow island or Massaga Pt. if it is safe. My buddy who lives on the bay says that there is a good 10-12 inches from Petes out to the middle so Cow Island should be fine. He was doing well out from Petes earlier but it has slowed lately, maybe this new moon will turn them on. Do you always fish cow island? We have done well off of the eastern pt of the island before. I have only fished Quinte once before this... and we fished cow island on the east side. Did quite will too, i caught 7 eyes biggest being about 6 lb. and 1 whitefish. We're coming from the Kitchener area. Maybe we'll meet up on the ice! Look for a group of three guys all in fish traps.
