Was out to Hay Bay to retrieve the boat from the winter storage barn and get it prepped for selling. Did all the picture thing and looked at the water.

Hay Bay is up quite a bit from last fall, BUT, I've seen it higher in past springs. Soft water looks good................

On our way back to Napanee, we past a couple of birds by the road side. We stopped and drove back and I got out of the car and walked over and took a picture. I met the owner of the birds. These weren't the wild turkeys we're used to seeing in magazines.

They weren't frightened of us or the dog that was with us, in fact the Tom put the run to the dog. All of this happening about five feet in front of us. I have vivid memories of being chased up a wood pile at the tender age of three in Alberta, The flash back was immediate.

Quite the birds - these birds aren't for hunting, just watching.

Hay Bay is WIDE open ,with some snow in the shaded areas, BUT she looks ready to go for another year.

Gonna clean up the old boat and transfer to new owner, then have to get the shrink-wrap off and clean and wax and polis and load the new boat.

May be in the water in 10 days if things go well.

Hope that guy is penned up in two weeks. I'm hunting in the Hay Bay area and if that guy wandered by my decoys, I'm thinking he would get wacked. Sure looks like a Wild turkey, except for the messed up tail feathers. That's what they kind of look like when they get wet.
