Saturday's Adventure:I headed out on Saturday for my second attempt at finding peacock bass or tucanare as the Brazilians would say. I knew there was a lake around here somewhere and finally had it in my sights.

Now all I had to do was get to it...

Ummm, I don't think the rental company should see this picture. But I was going after tucanare and a little mud wasn't about to stop me. I'm probably around 300' up on the side of this hill and it's straight down to the water below. You can see the road on the far side of the hill.

Well I made it to the lake but couldn't coax one into playing. I ended up driving into a town, finding a fishing shop, and between my broken Portuguese and the owner's broken English, we set up a plan to go next weekend for peacock bass. Hopefully I'll have a story on that next week.
Sunday's Adventure:
Today I took off to a closer by lake in search of a Pacu. It took me a while to figure them out, but finally talked this 20 lb guy into taking the bait. Man these things fight. After about 20 minutes, I had him in.

Now I'll be eating lots of fish for the next month while I am here. I had some for dinner and surprisingly, they're actually not to bad. My plan now is to boil his head and bring back his skull. If anyone has some tips on how to clean the skull really good, I'd love to hear them. I want to mount it with his jaws open for the wall.
Anyway, hope you enjoyed.
