Hey guys, I just have a couple questions as I am finalizing our first trip this weekend.

1. We are staying in Belleville and are planning on fishing Adolphus Reach if the weather cooperates. What is the best launch to use and are there attendants there to take cash or do I need to pre-pay or book? I'd rather launch in the Picton area.

2. We're planning on running one board per side (Can't afford another 2 plus I haven't ran boards before) and one flat line per side, all running braid with 20 lb fluorocarbon leaders dragging TDD-11's and 800 series RR's starting at 1.5 mph. Have these been working well as of late?

3. Any local etiquette tips that a new guy should know about? I'm a bit nervous about running with a number of boats with wide swaths of planers and don't want to be in anyone’s way!!! I plan on sitting back and watching to see patterns so I don't interfere.

Thanks for any advice and I cannot wait to get out and see if I can get some big walleye in the boat!!

Chewy

Hi chewy,

1- picton harbor is a great launch and has a honours system launch fee. Box is beside the ramp. It's a solid run from there to east of ferry. Other option is to go to Glenora ferry and there is a launch on the east side. Will save you a long run and it's a free launch

2- good choices

3- Just watch the pack if there is one and run the same pattern like you plan.

That is a great attitude Chewy. Adolphus reach is big, you wont have to worry about tight quarters. Don't think for a second you have to be where you see a pack of boats, there are fish everywhere. Good luck and save a few for the rest of us

Thanks for some great advice! The trip is now as I have a baby coming in one month so fish or no fish it's my last guys weekend!! I'd love a hog or two but I'm just excited to get on the water! If I don't lose too much tackle, keep out of everyone's way, and stay above water it will be an awesome weekend!! I'll have a couple more shallow lures that I'm going to try as well.

Thanks again
