I have the lifeproof case for my iPad (3G/WiFi) and it was well worth the money. My iPad fell off the side of my boat onto the road and was perfectly fine. Normally if you even think about dropping an apple product it is broken. My pad has also been wet numerous times from water splashing over the sides and no issues there.Good product if you want your iPad in the boat. I think its about $150 at Best Buy.
I have both the standard Navionics on my cell, and the HD navionics on the ipad. The HD has a few more feature and is about $50 bucks, but still cheaper than buying a new fishfinder and a real Navionics card as mine isn't equipped for that. The product has some nice features such as being able to save your tracks for future reference. The detail is not that great with a lot of contour lines fairly wide apart, but it definitely helps. Worth buying.
I also have the Precision Trolling Guide on both products and it is pretty awesome as well. I would recommend only buying the lures you use, like Stoty said, if you don't want to spend a bunch of money on it for lures you don't own and likely never will.
