I have not been to huffs this year yet to check the ice but i would be very skeptical about it. It can be tricky at the best of times. If i get over or know of a good reliable report source i will post it... Fred

Huffs is a no go!!!!!! Unless you like to stand on an inch and a half of ice. and may not even be that thick in other areas. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GOING OUT THERE.

BE SAFE AND USE YOUR HEADS AND i WOULDN'T BE HEADIUNG OUT IN THE DARK ANYWHERE UNLESS YOU KNOW FORSURE HOW MUCH ICE THERE IS.

Hope this helps.

wow is right, after Spox's information he still said 4"... unless it magically got 2-2.5 inches thicker over night from Thursday evening when I checked to Friday when your friend went on the ice. Even though I know my ice thicknesses by looking at them, I also used a measuring tape to be a bit accurate to show my buddy. I got out only 50ft from the point at huffs and it was getting thinner. So I backed off. Posty,I saw my little sisters notice letter of that kid that drowned,I too think I went to highschool with that kid that drowned he mustve been in gr.9 when I was in gr.12. It's a very sad and unfortunately loss to the community.

Be safe everyone!

Any parking problems at Huffs yet this year? I heard it could be a problem this year.

There's a new house built right on the end, left side, and the owner looks to be prat of Law Enforcement, no parking signd all down the road and at the end. Not looking good, have to wait and see who gets the first ticket....

Nuggy1 and I were out this am from 700am till noon, 3 fish, silver/orange champ...light bite for sure.

And to confirm there is an honest 3" black ice, with 4" in some areas....very consistent in thickness.

There was close to 20 lads out there this morning.

I would say there was at least 10 vehicles parked there....no tickets and I didn't see any signs for no parking.

I believe Huff's is owned by the Town of Greater Napanee. That would be like charging people to park on your street in town.

Really don't know why Napanee, Belleville and PEC aren't more lienant on winter parking considering the dollars poured into the local economy in the "off" travel season.

If access dries up, so will the dollars to restaurants, bait shops, hotel/motels etc.

Doesn't make much sense to me, it's not like guys are parking over night?
