The tournament is great but the princecraft open had the same problem, there is a slot size of 13.7 to 19.4, so if you cath a big one you have to release, kinda sucks!

Best of luck to the tournament organizers, but I agree the slot may turn some people away. Decent first place money and good odds if entries are low. Hopefully it is a success.

Plus $200 smallest 2 day weight prize. Maybe I will have to make the trip for this, I think I would have a good shot at that prize.

Lol it pays your entry!!! Lol, most of the slot tournaments will only attract the locals, 5k aint enough for any big names to show, the nowt prizes range from 10k all the way to 15k, Jim you should think about coming to one of these events, they are really fun and a lot of good anglers, closest to us is sudbury then gogama ( its my 3rd year on this one, very well run) we all pitch tents and campers together, its a great time!

I'll looked at the NOWT tournaments, I'd love to do a couple. maybe in a few years. Too hard to get Fridays off work. I'm hoping to fish a few Eastern Ontario walleye tournaments this year.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into it. Unfortunately my boat is only 17.5 feet. I usually fish Lake Erie 3 or 4 days each summer, if the weather is good. Usually out of Port Glascow or Burwell.

That should be good enuf. I fish in Erie with my 16 ft tri hall but I also know that lake pretty good. During the turny last year we fished in a 16 ft legend an the Saturday was a blow day cuz of small craft wind warning with 6 ft big rollers an we went out anyway an managed pretty good! Lol. Always trolled with waves tho.

Eastern walleye pro board usually has the up dates or fishmasters website. International 444 walleye tourney port colbourn. It's 1 of the biggest tourneys here on the Canadian side u should be able to find it. There is alot of pros that come to this an all the fishing guides in the area. Last year we placed higher then team rapala so we were pretty happy about that. Team okuma did pretty well but the drove across lake Erie to the American shore which I'm deffinetly not doin that! Lol it's a amazing tourney an cant wait for this year! 100 boats entered last time so hoping to get more this year. 300 per team of 4 people an 2 rods each person. After the early bird it goes to 600 per team but the deadlines usually 3 or 4 weeks before the tourney which is in mid june

Entries are coming in well for the return of the Canada/US Walleye Tournament. The field is roughly half full already with some great names from the past, plus such luminaries as Gord Pyzer coming all the way from Kenora.

In addition to the excellent cash payback schedule there are some terrific draw prizes, which any competitor can win...including

- two $500 cash draws

- a Princecraft boat

- a Lowrance Elite 5 Gold

- rod socks

- Shur-tows

- a handheld GPS

and there is much more to be announced yet.

Of course there are also the three Mystery Weight Prizes, two for cash, and one for $1,000 of Shimano rods and reels...the prize list just keeps getting better and better.

Virtually anyone, of any skill level or experience, can win in this tournament.

Ladies and gentlemen .....

The registration for the 2012 Canada US Walleye Tournament closes today at 5pm ! TODAY ... JUNE 4.

There are currently 112 teams registered for the event out of 125 possible spots. Only 13 more teams needed to fill this field for its first return in many years.

$150/team for a 2 day tourney ?? Lots of support from local businesses (Buckeye Marine is giving away a boat as a draw prize) and bigger corporation (Shimano, Power Pro, Berkley/Abu Garcia/Pure Fishing). Contingency prizes, draw prizes, $5,000.00 first place guaranteed and payback to 18th place (through 20th if 125 teams register).

I will challenge anyone here to beat my partner and I for the lowest two day total weight prize ! lol (And that's even $200)

Cheers and tightlines !
