Anyone heading out this weekend on the Kawarthas?? I think I'm gonna hit up the Bog late Friday night, or early Saturday morning. Probably start off trolling or casting cranks, then switch er' up to.......Rip jigging maybe

Me and my buddy are going to rice lake, I used to fish the bog all the time but i find rice has a lot more fish with the odd 5 to 6 pounders. Good luck on the bog, trolling worm harnesses worked the best for me.

I'm in a tourney on rice this weekend. Weedlines and hair jigs is my go too on rice.

Heading to the cottage on Rice this afternoon, I will be fishing from the tracks to the southwest. As on Rice, weedlines are the target and throw everything down there to see what they want.

My first choice would be Rice Lake. There are definitely bigger eyes in there. I like to save Rice Lake for the summer months where you can get into some deeper water than Scugog. I usually fish Scugog and Quinte in the spring. Worm harness and bottom bouncer will almost guarantee fish anywhere, but if I head out in the dark, I may try crankbaits for a bit.

Let us know how you made out.

Good Luck this weekend everyone!!!

Any reports guys??
I ended up going to Scugog this morning. Hit the water just before 6am. Jigged and casted cranks shallow till 9am without a hit. Sun was shining bright and the wind died right down, so I figured I'd try some deeper water. Started trolling harness and bouncer in 20-22fow and I'm glad I did. Within a half hour we landed 2 keepers. 15 and 18 inches. That was it. Fished till 4pm without any more action. Water temps were 55-58

Took my kick boat(one man pantoon boat that you see on the wall of Canadian Tire) out of Harwood.Caught one small walleye ,one small muskie and a perch, and lots of weeds. Not many boats where I was, seen lots of boats out towards Gores Landing.Seen two dead five plus pounders near shore(walleye)....winter die off? Seen a girls big dog chase the geese way out into the lake ,would not stop...15 minutes or more...she ended up jumping in and swimming way out to rescue it,water was pretty cold!Congrats to the two fisherman who used their boat to cut off the dog from the geese who were leading it further and further out.....100 yards plus!....then they guided the girl and her tired dog back to safety.

Glad to hear the fish were there. How bout the slot?? Were they keepers, or over/under?? I know there are bigger eyes in Rice, than Scugog, but last year fishing Rice, I found I was throwing back 90% of what we were catching because of the slot. I like the idea of the slot, but would be nice to keep a few the odd time.

Thanks for the update.

fished Rice yesterday. Caught 6, 2 in the slot and the rest under, i lost quite a few along the weed lines. Its a pretty productive spot out from Gores in the channel right now.
