Hey just wondering if you have to go out to Barr Shoal for Lake Trout this time of year or can you get them closer to the gap ?

This was a while ago BUT things haven't changed. Except I would think the snow on the ramp is gone.

You should be good to go from Finkles.

Spoons ( blues, gold), jointed husky jerks, snap weights or down riggers , try 40-60 fow , if nothing go a bit shallower up to 25 fow. Sometimes it takes time to figure where they are.
Good luck
Tim

We trolled from the green can at the gap all the way to big bar covering depths from 30-100fow and around the south side of big bar and had one knock off on the rigger to show for it. Thanks to a tip from a friend on a spot we moved and finished with 4 and missed 2 others in a few hrs.

Water was 34-35 degrees

Took all bites except 1 on riggers.

I'm thinking they aren't on the shoals yet feeding. Prob need a couple warm days like today and it'll be go time.

Our fish were 10-17lbs
