Well what's everyone thinking will take the prize this year? Has anyone checked water temps at all? Wonder if the spawn is done?

My guess is 11.2 lbs to win it, caught Saturday at dawn on a worm harness in Collins bay and weighed in from a cooler/truck. :)

Assuming that the spawn is not done. How much will be affected by the tournament ? Will it be something we notice a few years from now ? Has the tournament and the spawn ever overlapped before ? My guess is 11.2

We've caught many fish in the past few years still "milking". Unfortunately the bite is slower when spawn is still happening it seems. I think the spawn is prob mostly done though.

What do you mean "cooler/truck"?
I heard last year's fish was caught a long way off and thought it to be a long run by boat to weigh-in.

Any comments?

Seems like every year there is a story of a fish that gets caught far away and brought to a weigh in by vehicle in a cooler. Rumour was last years was caught, boat loaded on trailer and brought to quinte for weigh in.

It seems there is no restriction on where people can fish in Lake Ontario so I'm guessing someone pulls a piggy from the lake.

The MNR rules clearly state - it is illegal to transport game fish

Hi everyone new to the Forum. I just want to weigh in on the transport of live fish. It is Illegal to transport live fish across land in your live well. If you have fish in your live well you have to pull the plug or you are breaking the law. As soon as you pull your boat out of the water you must empty water from your live well.

12.30 out of Lake Ontario and weighed in at Picton. Should have to show Navionics map lines for the day if your boat is equipped

I'm all for fishing anywhere on Lake Ontario or boq. Just need to make sure u come to weigh station by boat and that the boat never makes it on a trailer in between.

12.69 caught in the reach..
Early spawn last year, a fair number where caught out side of bay. winning fish colins bay area, I can confirm 100% fish showed up in picton by a boat in water. as they passed us in the reach. 620 ranger, very able boat of making that run. did they trailer from colins bay to bath ? who knows..
Its illegal to transport live fish across land.. in ny, its illegal to have a drop of water in your livewell..
