So if you had no tackle and were given the chance to buy just 2 lures what would yours be?

I have lots but I don’t know the names I tried to take a pic but can’t share it’s to many pixels. Just looking to add 1 or 2 before the trip.

You have a good assortment to start with. Do you use a flasher or camera? That’s the best thing to start with. At least you can see how the fish reacts to your bait.

I have the Humminbird 385 ice. It has a flasher mode but I preffer the sonar view. I've had it a few years on Simcoe so I'm pretty good at reading fish reaction on it. Moving up, moving down or still all show a little different.

When looking for gear for a new spot I like to check out the local bait shops. They usually stock the popular stuff for that area and hey, I'd rather them get my cash than basspro:)

Hands down the best producing baits when I used to guide were the Northland Macho Minnow and Northland Buckshot.
Gold, silver, blue/silver, orange were the main colours used.

We had pretty decent luck on new years eve with the chartreuse lindy darter with a minnow head on the back treble
