Hi all:

I'm heading out to the Belleville area in the middle of January for some ice fishing on the Bay. What is the ice like? Any tips for a newby that would be great.

Thanks :D

Always come up for last week of season and fish out of Desoronto. Anybody seen ice conditions that way? Will there be ice by the end of February? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Anybody catchin' big pickerel?

Thanks!

Take your floater suit. It's not too bad, but I wouldn't encourage anyone too much....
take care for sure!!

fshfrfood, I think that is a very good thing to remmember when fishing. But isn't the crown local to Canada?

We had anywhere between 6 inches at Pete's Pointe to 10 inches or more on Big Bay ... but the ice was melting fast w/ the rain on Wednesday evening. Unless it gets cold, the ice - especially the shorelines - is going to take a beating. We drove 4-wheelers and pulled a trailer to all of our spots. Travel light and good luck.

Rocky Mountain Man:

How was the fishing, we are supposed to leave on 18-Jan, for our trip to meet up with Mike N., but it's not looking good. Looking at the forecast I think there's a strong chance our trip will be canceled. But it sounded like you had fun from reading your other post's.

I love fishind as much as anybody but with the warm weather we have had this week i wouldn't think much of the 4"-5" of ice i fished on at point anne would be left.I don't think your life is worth a couple of eyes.Remeber floatation suits don't save live the only give you a chance, travel lightly.
