Thanks everyone for your input. We decided for our budget and waters, to return our shopping to an aluminum deep V hull boat. We now own a 17'Starcraft Fisherman, Fish and Ski boat, with a 90 HP Mercury. We bought it barely used, from a Marine in Morristown, NY. With the right paperwork and fees paid, the border stuff went very smoothly. We just got back from our maiden voyage on Hay Bay up to Mallory Bay, over to Deseronto; and back around Ram Island. Awesome! We are going to name her Bliss. That says it all in one word! See you on the water, Best of luck with fishing.

Your choice for a Starcraft is an excellant one - they make fine boats.

You'll have a lot of fun with that one.

And as Lynn Said, Now get some fish blood on her

Thanks. We were very impressed with Wright's marine. They even gave us a 60 day warranty on the motor.

Any tips you would send this way on the paperwork would be great.I hear its pretty simple to buy and bring a boat over. I have been doing some homework of my own on doing this but I may be buying private and not from a dealer.
Again... any suggestions would be great! What should I have prepared beofre I go get it?
Thanks in advance

Happy to. Will get all my notes and website links together and will gladly share the info/tips. In short the stuff at the border is a breeze, and yes you do have to have some things ready. The other steps are easy just, hurry up and wait stuff with packages'forms to arrive and complete. More details to follow. Glad to help.
