Having been watching the news of late, I'm continually having to calm down Snarfalicious and assure him that there is virtually no chance or immediate threat of being boarded and taken hostage by Somali pirates on the Bay of Quinte in late November.

However, all good times are had by careful contingency planning and risk management. In deference to this, Mac, DeProp and I have forged a secret pact that in the event of a Somali pirate boarding and hostage-taking, that we're going to give up the Snarf as a goodwill gesture, but will buy his freedom with whatever beer happens to be left over at the end of the weekend.

We've already bought Snarfy's wife a condolence card in anticipation of having no lucre left at the end of the weekend with which to buy his release.

Ssssh. Don't tell da Snarf. Someone has to take one for the team and just like in the old pirate days, the fattest guy is the first to go.

We shouldn't have told him that this footage was from the Bay of Quinte with Somali pirates trying to take over and board a cement freighter.

I have years of experience in Snarf Handling. It's an art, a gift so to speak. Additionally, once the Snarf is properly medicated, he becomes quite docile.

I don't recommend anyone else trying this at home (or at the Get Together), it's best left to a professional. 8)

Hey, did you hear about Patio's double-header! See the pictures? (kinda hard not to when he's got them halfway up your left nostril). Maybe he'll bring them again, and wear some of those "Bob Suzuki" rainpants!

Jimbo, you need to keep a a tighter rein on your boy, Patio this year.

I don't want to see him trussed up in duct tape with a red rubber ball in his mouth, tucked into some American closet like an after-dinner party favor.

Muxy, Muxy, Muxy It's been a while since I last seen you and it would be nice to hear you speak rather than snoring all the time. I can never sit down on your couch because you're always in the fetal position and yell nasty things at me. Snarf and I are just getting started and you and a few others are down for the count, what's with that, eh Snarf?? Don't get me wrong your mouth being closed is a nice break for all of us and we finally get to see if you actually did bring any beer. I'm gald the Ol Princecraft mentioned double header pictures because I better get the new ones developed. All I can say about the pictures lads is that I have some and you guys don't so what does that tell you? Do I smell skunk here or is that coming from your pocket? I hope Pete Bowman shows up again this year, I've got a few stories to tell him. See you next week buys!! Fish on....again Patiooooooooooooooooo????

Patio, I'm afraid you have me mixed up with someone else. As Mac will attest, I'm generally the last in the cabin, usually sometime around 3am (I've been known to wake them all up just to let them know I'm home). Also, this year I'm 100% mobile and painkiller-free. There is a God, and he likes me. 8O

Make sure that you bring enough beer so that Mac can pilfer them in a surreptitious manner (and then confess to it on the internet the next year ) None of that Brava stuff either (that's one sure-fire way to keep us out of your beer). Maybe you can pawn that stuff off on "Drop Dead Dougie". I'll bring you some see-gars.

Bring your pictures again. We haven't seen them in a whole year and can't wait to hear the story! Also, I think that 'ol Pete Bowman was scared off by the "Bob Suzuki Pant Rant", never to return.

Not many more sleeps, Patio, old sock, old shoe. Wot?

If it keeps up like this, we'll bring our golf clubs and water skis.

Patio... I had a feeling that we could wake you up...you can only lurk for so long until the tempatation takes over. I was kinda worried that you might show up with a patch over your eye, a frilly shirt and some knickers with all the talk about pirates. Mux covered those concerns with the ball choker costume so I'll assume that we're ok until next year.

I took a minute to check Pete's blog to see if he was aleady talking about how excited he was to be coming back up to see you....nada. Some great pics from last year though.... waiting for the triple header and duck on stories...

Jimbo...guilty by association - nothing personal...yagger bombs are waiting

Hi All,
I will be at Merland Park this weekend for the get together and you all seem like like youve done this a few times. We have tired in the fall a few times with limited success. I was just wondering if anybody had any tips on what's new and what to bring, we plan to run planners, riggers and attempt jigging. Any help before we go would be appreaciated so I can stock up on gear.
Is the Mux Urine sold out?
