Captain Hank, I think your comments are a little out of line. There's no more information in Mike's posts than most of us would share with others who post here any day of the week. One of the reasons I enjoy this board more than almost all others is the wealth of information that is shared. Sure, there's alot to be said for getting out on the water and learning on the job, but we also come here, to learn those things that make the difference on those more challenging days. And, tell me that we all don't enjoy a pat on the back every once in awhile for coming off the water a winner. Shoot, I sure do. Sure wish they happened more often. Mike, hat's off to you. Thanks for sharing. Tight lines to all.

You nailed it weedman. Mike on behalf of all of us that travel long distances to fish the BOQ with limited time your information is much appreciated. Lighten up Captain Hank, Mike is a great contributer to this
board. Last May before I drove the 8 hours it takes me to get to the BOQ I read one of Mikes post that indicated the Smithwick Rogue was a good lure to use. I had no idea what that was, but Canadian Tire did. I bought one and landed my personal best 10.6lbs. Much appreciated Mike,
I hope to meet you at the Weekend get together.

Captain Hank,

Quote:
This is a valuable resource that we share, and should not be raped.

I understand this point of view but truth be told some of the information I used to be successful was learned from fishing shows (and of course this web board). Below is list of the shows I watch that used similiar techniques to catch fall Waleye on the Bay of Quinte:

Real Fishing
Canadian Sportfishing
Angler and Hunter
Fishful Thinking
FIsh'n Canada

So you see the information is already out there and most of these shows are trying to prompt fishing in the Bay of Quinte.

I don't want to get into a word of words here as I do know where you are coming from.

Cheers,

Mike

Hey Captian Hank...If I haven't used you as a guide till now, I'm sure your endearing remarks to Mike will want me to sign right up for one of your charters! What will you do if I decided to mount my first 16lb'er...throw me back instead? Better get some looser fitting pants Captain cause the ones you're wearing seem to be squeezing your brain!

Personally Hank

I think as do many others that this is what a good board is all about. Sharing ideas and experiences is what it is all about for me. When you drive 3.5 hours each way to come fishing, I want to be armed with the best knowlege available. I believe when anglers like Mike, Superdad and Targa2 share their vast knowlege like they do, it only helps the local economy and fishery. I personally make 3-4 extra trips up a year because of the info passed on this board.
As a note, I have kept a grand total of 4 eating size fish for the pan this year.

I will also go as far as to say that the guys on this board are a very good group from what I can gather. Most everyone is in it for the sport as am I.

So even though I you have a right to your opinion, I doubt very much whether very many others agree.
I don't.

Mike, I appreciate all the great tips. I have been fishing Quinte for 20 years and still learning. There is always something new whether its lure, gear or technique of fishing. I think Captain Hank is being total ignorant and missing the whole point of this discussion board. I take it he gets skunked alot! He seems awfully jealous of all the fish you caught !

Thanks for the great tips Mike, keep them coming!

Capt Hank,

This board was established to help us all. Mike is far from being the first guy to post a detailed factual report. My god just look back at posts from past years and you will see. Many folks have learned how to fish Quinte because of this board. We all have gained(you too I suspect) lessons and invaluable experiences from those who take the time to report (both good and bad) their trips on the Bay. Way to go guys on your great success!!
Now enough said on this thread and hopefully Capt Hank will be back with some reports of his own.
