Has anyone tried the jika rig? I saw it in ontario out of doors a few weeks back and it has worked pretty good so far. Its kinda like a a drop shot mikxed with a texas rig. I think theres a thing on it on the ontario out of doors website.

Pretty cool how it works, simple to usee to

ji-ka rig isnt a new set up, its been around for about 3 or 4 years, if you buy japanesse plastic's, they have a bunch of different techinques on the back, and its there, canadian tire in kingston has jackall plastics, i am not sure if jackall is one of the brands that puts the pictures on the back, but diffently worth a look. its one of the few flipping methods i do use, i am not a flipper, i love cranking, jerking, and top water tatic's. when flipping, i either trow a carolina rig, weightless craw, senko, or jika or other japanesse styles...
after watching dan elliot putting a fishing clinic on yesturday, flipping, i diffently will have 3 or 4 flipping sticks all rigged up ready to go for when i get back out fishing later with a buddy..
drop shotting really kicked butt this morning..

Glad to hear about the drop shot working well. It's one of my goto's for bass. What were you using for rubber on the drop shot?? (If you don't mind me asking)

xZone "slammers" are by far the best drop-shot baits around!
xZone just came out with their new "swammer" swimbait, which is based off the "slammer".

I tell ya, Mark sure knows how to make some awesome baits!
I do a lot of competitive bass fishing, and I wouldn't be caught on the water without some of his stuff!

dont get too confindate about those slammers, stoty, i kicked a big name pro's butt yesturday, fishing a berkly bait, and he was trowing the slammer.. maybe he was just trying to not show off with me right besides him..
Mark is a great guy, i talked to him for probly 20 minutes after a talk he did. i do have a ton of his stuff in my boat, kingston canadian tire finaly has the swammers in stock.. great stuff.. i am big lake fisherman, so clearly drop shotting is a regular method i use..

Too funny!!! I just bought some XZone slammers, not knowing anything about them. Just the look of them made me buy them. Can't wait to try them out.

I have slammers too, lol, have had them for around 2 years now, best place to get them is order them off his website, then you can get the colours you want.. i dont consider them my go to bait thou.. i do better on other stuff, but if my other stuff isnt working sure i throw one on, thats why i have them in the boat.. lol... but you will also see me throw 3/4 oz jig with trailer, before i throw a slammer, just one of those things.. lol.. my thinking is as a bait become's more popular the fish reconize it more, and it doesnt work as well.. how many times do you think a 5 plus pound fish has been caught and released ?? i bet atleast 50 % have been caught at least once.

Just a note on ordering xzone stuff. Quinte Outdoor sports has a ton of it in in a bunch of colors. Might want to have a look there before ordering it.

For those of you who don't live around a tackle store that carries them, you can order them online through http://www.tacklestock.com

I'm with Dan all the way when it comes to tube jigs. Bass magnet makes some sweet 5 inch flippin tubes.

On the drop shot I go with Fish Belly hawg shads, xzone slammers, or bass magnet twitch. All very different, all very good.

I always use tubes for largemouth, and I just rig old school with a lindy tube jig head. My favorite is the powerbait 2.5 in smoke. On a side note I always use small pink power tubes ( the one inch crappie packs ) for spring rainbows and most times out fish guys fishing roe.

Hey guys. Just returned home from a few days on the Bay, and I did try the EZ weights Dan was talking about for tubes, and it works pretty good. Unfortunately, I didn't give the tubes much of a chance, cause they were hitting the Slammers like mad!!! It may not sound like much for some guys on here, but I got out twice for about 3 hours each time, and landed 7-10 bass on each outing. Pretty good for me, cause I don't really know any "Hotspots" for bass, but they were all caught in the Napanee River. Anyways, I learned a few techniques that worked well, and it's nice to have a few different "goto" baits for the next outings.

Thanks for the posts!!

Fireball:when you order direct you help put the small tackle shops out of business, then you wonder why they went belly up.
