Sorry, looking for softer water this time
. We'll be down either Thursday or Monday depending on weather. As others have noted, I like to see waves of 1/2 meter or less in the forecast before I dump the tin boat into the lake. Anything bigger and it's no fun. And I want it fun, the trip is a day off school for my kid as a bonus for a strong report card.
But next spring is a long ways away, and picton's only an hour or two, so we may come again when things freeze over. I've got a taste for pickerel now, and not any in the freezer for the winter.
Wheel...I just checked the wind for Thursday, and it's not looking good. Winds from the west in the 30's and gusts close to 40km/h You may be able to fish the cement plant side, but getting there and back may be sketchy. I did it last weekend in a 16 footer in nearly the same conditions, and it was not fun. Ask anyone who was out last Saturday.
