Just curious. Does anybody out there eat them? The only commercial fisherman on Hay Bay catches a ton of them and gets a good buck for them. You probably know that sunfish and blue gobies bring in the biggest financial reward for the commercial guy. Go Figure.

How did you make out this past weekend Duffer?
BOQ sheepshead get big and fight hard! I much prefer catching them over a 1-4lb walleye (sandwich bags  )
Worms work great, but I found gobys to be the best for the larger fish.
good luck.

Worms do work great. I'm sure Gobies are an excellent bait and easy to catch, but illegal to use/transport/posses.

Yes those undistinguished bottom feeders bring the highest process for commercial fishermen in this area at least. The explanation for the sunfish and gobies is that they are processed in Toronto and bring big prices in the Asian market. I believe they are served in a soup or stew concoction. The by catch in Hay Bay at least is pike, sheepshead and I'm not sure what else. You won't ever see a walleye in the boat lol
Not sure if anyone is still fishing Quick's license in Brighton anymore but Sunfish brought them the biggest dollar as well.
