Mr. Heater hose question. Regulator?

Got my buddy hose and the filter at Princess Auto - two weeks ago. Had issues with my Mr Buddy heater after it fell into the 1' of water in my popup. Took some time before worked good again but without filter. I plan to put filter in warm area and run Mr Buddy for a bit to make sure no residual H2O clogging lunges when freezing temps outside.

So I continued my research last night because I was still curious as to why Mr. Heater sells both filters and special hoses and it actually looks like it is the pressure changes in the "hose" and the crap that leaks out from the hose that causes the heater to gunk up. It has nothing to do with "dirty propane" or particles in the propane. So you have 2 choices: #1 - purchase a lower grade hose and then every year look at purchasing a filter or #2 - just purchase the higher quality hose that Mr. Heater sells and then no need for filters every year. It states this right in their description.

If I can find the hose I will just be purchasing it to save having to get a filter every year for $10-$16. Just incase anyone else also wants to pick up one of these hoses it is the 10ft Buddy Series Hose Assembly

Ha but only there 10' hose doesn't require a filter the 5' and 12' say filter recommended

You do not have to buy a filter every year,we have had the same filter for 5 years now.

Ok that's good to know. I just looked at the recomendations and thought it said to replace each year. Of course they want you to buy one each year regardless, lol. I guess it depends how much you are using it as well.

This is a direct reply from Mr. Heater as of last night, now the part that they are referring to is the one with the regulator.

No, that is all you need. The regulator plugs into the tank and the hose to the machine on the left side quick connect connection behind the machine's regulator. Done.

If I remember right the differents in the hoses is that in cold weather one gets real stiff and the other stay manageable and the soft one needs the filter .The soft one leaches particles under the pressure.
