yes...absolutely. Once your limit is in the live well, you need to stop targeting that species immediately. Always keep one less than the limit if you want to cull.
It's a DAILY limit, whether you consume the fish or not.
Your DAILY LIMIT = your POSSESSION LIMIT

Daily limit and possession limit are two different things.

Daily limit is what you can keep in a day.

Possession is what you can have total in your possession (your freezer counts).

Provincial Walleye possession limit is 6, zone 20 sport license walleye daily limit is 4.

If you have 2 walleye in your freezer then you can only keep 2 walleye.

If you have 0 fish in your freezer but catch 4 in the morning and keep them. Your daily limit has been reached and your possession limit is at 4. If you come in and eat them or give them away. Your possession limit goes down to 0 but your daily limit has still been reached. Your daily limit does not reset until midnight even though your possession is back to 0.

To further complicate things I don’t believe you can possess more fish from a single fishery managment zone then the daily day limit. So even though the provincial possession limit is 6 you can’t have more then 4 walleye in your freezer from zone 20. You could have 4 walleye from zone 20 and 2 from zone 18.

Actually yeah they are. If not as good as walleye. I had a buddy down a few years ago that knew how to clean them. And there are delicious. I just wish he taught me how to do it. YouTube shows you. It’s just not the same

I definitely agree that cold water pike is an awesome meal, but not in the summer as much. I can clean and debone a pike half decently, but they have to be at least 5lbs for me to do without alot of waste.

You should pick up a copy of the regs instead of arguing!
