Ya next year we should have a tourney. Everyone has a digital camera or knows someone who does, take a pic make sure the date is on the camera, take a pic with the walleye with length and girth and release it back, then put the pic on here. Its hard to weigh a fish and take a pic just because all scales aren't the same. It sounds pretty simple to me.

I wish there could be a live and release tourney in the winter for walleyes you would get a lot of guys entering it I would have to think. you would have to have a cooler with a aerater and if you fish dies your disqualified.

That would work... Take some demo pics this summer of some fish with the tape measure for clarification. Count me in... better yet, write me down for #1st!

I was thinking ice fishing and you might get third because I'll be first and second and come on know no electronics, all natural jigging! I guess though fishing with a vexliar once you fish with one you can't go back! Is that true?

It is true... Vex all the way. I was referring to taking some pictures of what would be expected for the photos this summer that way come first ice, it could get started right away.

Good idea.

There is another site that has a winter derby like this. One thing they require is that a "card" so to speak is included in the pick. This could be something simple someone here could make, and all users who enter, could print the card off. This is just to help ensure less cheating. i.e. having your buddy catch one, and take a pic with a measuring tape for you.

The card would simple be like a business card that could say "quintefishing.com ice derby 07/08", or something similar"

Ya a card or piece of paper saying whatever tournament thats a good idea, we will have to do this for sure next year or the summer whatever.
