I guess that's what sets me out as a newbie....I didn't realize how competative people could be in this series.

David, I've only heard great things about your fishing abilities and more so, yourself as an individual. I've only seen a smile on your face when at the podium and during the CFT, people yelling and screaming for you.... I apologize for seeming to come across negatively towards you and it wasn't meant that way.

I was quite thrilled with twice finishing in the top 20....I guess my standards are low and I've got a lot of work ahead of me

Cheers

GREAT POST BY ALL exept the rocket....that was dumb...you know better. It was great to see Bob Derek and David Chong (thanks David for getting Jeff T. off his a$$ and come and play.) These guys are great embassitors(sp) to a sport for the most part is high stress low sucess.
Jeff maybe we should close the north shore of the bay too....YOU KNOW THAT"S MY SPOT :!:
Rocket.....
Maybe if you had the equipment (that worked)so you could get to the lake, you too could get a great bag like they did(Bob and Derek).Maybe you should improve your skills, equipment and a full tank to gas before wanting to change the rules.

.......NOW on a serious note.....

I think that with David,Bob and Derek could only improve how we fish the QFS. We will be forced to experiment with different styles and technique. Closing the waters of at the start of the season YES, later no. What would be the difference if I want to go to Kingston , or Henderson Harbour for largemouth....I know some teams that went on big runs for largemouth in the last tournment they didn't fair too well, but they tried. We fish for fun and comrottory(sp) and sometime win a little money. We should welcome ANY new anglers to our waters weather they fish The Bay or run to Cornwall!!!! it's not about how much money one person has or how much time we all spend on the water, we have all spent money that we shouldn't, have to keep fishing at one time or another. I look foreward to competing every year and I would like to keep it that way.
Another great angler that everyone forgot was Ernie Jensen who fished with Jeff this year...he's not only a great angler but a great person(as are everyone)He fits right in with the rest of us BOQ red necks...

Dan please do not remove this.....I will be keeping an EYE 8O on this.

Hi guys, heard a little bit about Rob's post thought I would check it out. First, limiting water is Pete's choice if he feels it levels anything so be it. I do know that the majority of the QFS field have both the equipment and skill to fish where ever they choose. Yes Dave has got me off my butt to fish a few events we have had a great time and cashed some cheques, Dave is a great friend and angler. We will be back next year for couple if we can. I would like to fish some with my son aswell time and health permitting. Back to the subject of limiting water. We did prefish the bay for a couple of days with weights of 22+ Monday achored by a 7+ monster, 19-20 on Tuesday but the pattern would not and didn't hold out with the approaching cold front Thursday was 15-16 lbs! These days were only a few hours each not all day. Lake Ontario and tributarys held 20+ smallmouths that did not get effected from the cold front. Simple choice!!! Dave and I also ran in August Bassamania but for largemouths, no guaranteed weight but the best we could put together. My opinion for what its worth is keep the boundries open, Quinte holds bags that can win any event. Keep the health of the fish as the first priority always. Let everyone do what they enjoy and do best. I can fish with limitations if Pete believes its best for the circuit? I'm not really sure how this would help an already great circuit. I believe anyone is a threat to win in any event. I know long winded post, Congrats to Andy and Darcy, your consistantcy continues to amaze me. And Jeff Kerr, great job I looked at that shoreline, looked like crap, I didn't even wet a line in it.... To the teams limited by boat size, hone your skills, fishhard (to quote a friend) it will all come together for you trust me. Jeff Toppings
