Batman I don't fish bass at all. They didn't have braid back then. It wasn't me it was my buddy and it was over twenty years ago.

Tran-man,

I don't think I mentioned you personally, did I?

I have talked to 5 guys this winter alone, that broke rods on Quinte Walleye.

One guy broke two St.Croix Premier medium heavy rods, in one day.

That's all.

i released one for my bud ryan , bout 2 winters ago, it was 35.5 inches long , its girth cant recall, however i will never forget the fact that i had to squeeeze its belly to get back down 8 inch hole . ryan was usin a 10 inch hole. i took a pic which all that was pornoshopped at the time. however bein an unknown to most at time , is understandable. now that im almost local and know me will vouch that i take pics like i drive boat..lol. incidently the fish had mega warts hope they werent venereal. lol

Hi
we have caught many 13's and the odd 14 measured with certified scales. Last dec was a 13 8oz one evening (with 25 other fish). Creel census info from dept reports gives year classes vs weight. i cant remember the year class but it was certainly over 15. Have a look.
Our 13 8 and 13 10 on an electronic scale in dec cold is off (low) by about 2% so they were likely 14;s
bill still wanting a 15 or 16
Still hoping for a 15 -THEY are there.

We pulled this one thru the ice a few years back...my buddy had his 15lb weight capacity, digital scale with him and it turned off when we tried to weigh it. We tried again and the same thing happened but worked for an 8lber. We didn't want to keep it out of the water too long so didn't play with the scale. When we released it, people down the Bay were yelling...we'll take that as we were stuffing it back down the hole.

So take it for what it's worth...could have been a defective scale but was for sure the biggest and nicest walleye I've personally seen.

In late 2006(Dec./Jan) I netted a pig that we weighed in the boat on 3 different scales.2 were digital, the other was my 25 lb. Chatillon. The weights read as follows;15.2;15.6;& the Chatillon read 15lbs. 10 oz. Biggest fish I've seen to date.Too bad my buddy has the only pics. During that same period we boated several 14+'s.They are definetly out there.

Great posts by some .... thread should read "the mythical 15lb BOQ eye and everyone's mystically disappearing picture" is so funny how many people say they have caught this big massive walleye but can't find the pictures. I have every picture of every personal best at hands reach. 80 % of the stories for some reason the picture has disappeared or a friend of a friend has it. Here's one of my favorite from last summer the Bass with a field mouse in its stomach (had to open it up, stomach was way too big for his body, and ate him anyway :-) ), and the second picture is my big fat 13lb 11oz Catfish caught 3 weeks ago at Point Anne ( Thought I had a big pike or dirty sheephead until he finally came up to the boat after 20mins)

I was lucky enough to find the mythical 15 pounder the picture on the previous page that steve hamilton posted of the 15 lb 10oz eye was me.
i caught the fish in january between christmas and new years in 2006 by keiths shoal in 65 ft of water on a purple deamon reef runner when i caught it it weighed 15lbs 15oz
on my digital scale when i got back to the motel i weighed it on another guys digital and it weighed 15lbs 13 ozs.Two days latter when i got home i had it weighed on a certified butchers scale and it weighed 15lbs 10 ozs.Last year i was lucky enough to break the 14lb mark with a 14lb 2oz fish.I tried to post pictures of the 15lb 10oz
after it was mounted and a picture of the 14lb 2oz fish before i let her go but they are to large and i don't know how to reduce the pixel size.

I have a friend from PA who hasn't fished Quinte in a few years, but when he was fishing in the fall, he was a true fish-hawk.

This is a picture of one he got in 2000 and shortly after releasing her, he landed one that tipped his scales at over 17lbs, but so covered with growths and stuff, he just weighed it and released it sans picture.

Image

He told me that he hooked one near Belleville once that dwarfed this one and the hook pulled out as he was trying to net it by himself in the boat. He said the fish was close to 20lbs......The big one ALWAYS gets away..........

Just my .02 to this discussion.
