you know the drill Kevin. people wont post because they want to keep there ice quiet lol. im sure as im sure the sun will rise tomarrow there is people fishing huffs,,,,,,, just exactly where is anyones guess, there is good ice, and bad ice so knowing the area helps alot. but to answer your question yes there is ice at huffs lol. does that mean you can go any place out there? i wouldnt think so........... just like any early ice you have to check as you go and fish on ice that is comfortable for you. I would not reccomend anone running all over on atvs unless you have walked first......... buit there is the odd crazy fool who is to lazy to walk and willing to risk crashing thru the ice by thinking hey I saw an ATV that must mean i can go anyplace on the ATV......... thats a very wrong thing to think or do there is many places now with 5-6-7 inches of ice. but that sure dont mean its everyplace. if you dont know the current areas and danger zones you had best be checking the ice as you go!! or follow trails thats easy now because there is snow on the ice.......... common sence goes a long long long ways, unfortunatly not everyone has that. good luck. be smart and luck has very little to do with it! .... know what yer doing and you cant go wrong. trust yourself, dont trust others!! .... Grizz

its true.......... what amazes me is i saw a post saying fish the mouth of the trenton......... thats just insane to make a post like that......... around the edges might be ok. but to post the mouth...... what some dont understand is people reading this dont all know the area. and some will find the bad spots the hard way!! so why even stear someone in a direction where its known to be bad ice I can only hope that people reading are smart enough to check as they go not just go and hope!!

The guys that went through at Trenton said they were at the end of Dufferin St.,There is a small creek to the left of the launch (Not much of a launch also)where it empty's into the bay it never really freezes thick in that area, you can hardly see it if you don't know its there.Water is only a couple feet deep there.

Yes they went threw last Tuesday morning I was checking different areas to fish and seen just one wheel of the atv sticking out threw the ice ,I couldn't believe it but there is a small creek there not much flow but enough to weaken the ice ,thats why I always walk with a spud, even when the ice is a foot thick.

I won't lie boys; I just got back from huffs. I walked straight out from the parking lot and maybe about 100yards to the left. There were like 20 huts and even more people out there. BUT UNSAFE ICE!!! To be more specific the best ice I found was 4" of black ice in only one spot. But 2.5" to 3" inches at best everywhere alse. My spud went thru the ice in a few spots (yikes!). The ice is extremely uneven out there. One spot is nice black ice then two feet to the left 1" of crap ice.
