Heading out Thursday to Quinte from the shwa any suggestions where we can go for preferably "eyes" and crappie/jumbos?

Been reading about potters creek area is that in trenton? any bait shops around?
that would be shorter drive than belleville/big island area..havent seen much posting about shermans point maybe not safe yet?

just need a bait shop,place to park and rough area where we can go out and punch some holes please and thanks

Normally, Sherman's Point has good ice early in the year. This year, it isn't the case. There is only 3 inches of ice close to shore, with ice getting thinner and thinner as you move out towards Sherman's Point. I spoke to two guys that ventured out, and they were pretty spooked by how thin the ice was.

Some are saying Huff's is good. If you like standing on 2 inches of ice, maybe it is good. You won't see me on it.

Potters Creek, West of Belleville is 6 inches of good ice. I fished the area for two days last week. You do not feel like your going to fall through.

Look at other posts for Potters Creek parking and bait store locations. There have been many posts on this topic.

Good Luck and be safe, save gas and leave the 4 wheeler at home.

thanks guys...sounds like potters is about safest place right now huh, gonna try for some crappie tuesday I think at scugog,was already out 10 days ago there but nothin ,had 4-5 small nibbles but nothing hooked,cant fish for eyes til jan1st there
