I couldn't wait any longer, so my son and I headed down to the Bay Monday. We arrived at noon to pick up minnows at Pro Tackle, and boy were thay fresh, the minnows that is. The word in the shop was that Potters was doing well, so we hightailed it down there and got set up in the high wind. Glad to have a second pair of hands to hold onto the pop-up while I screwed it down let me tell you.

There were perhaps three other groups fishing, so we settled of to the side and out further, where I thought the flats would hold the fish venturing up from deeper water. By 1:30 we were fishing. I drilled five extra holes to cover outside the hut.

As the afternoon progressed, we were surrounded by similar-minded fishers. I counted 38 groups of people at Potters. With 2 to 5 per group, that's a lot! We fished until way after dark when most people had gone in. And we caught nothing. Nada. Zilch. Except for a few perch. Didn't even mark a fish other than perch.

Back in the parking lot, I did a tour, and nobody I spoke to caught a fish, nor say a fish caught. So much for potters.......
Or does the bite start at midnight?

I'll be back. Maple
