Was able to get out fishing with Perfectly Pat on Wed AM, kinda blowing a little bit, so we didn't roam too far, West Side of Ram Is, Old Church WeedLine and the BayvIew Resort Shoal. No hits, No fish - zero.
Got out again, solo at 1630 for a couple of hours, Fished Old Church again and saw flock of Gulls towards Pig Farm. Headed over thought there might be a school of baitfish. as I approached, the gulls were circling the Pig Farm. Decided to troll a crankbait along in 18' of water.
Marked some fish, trolled a second lure part-way and felt thet Uzick spinner was the ticket. Trolled the Orange spinner from 18 feet towards the shore into 16.5' and on the inside turn, had a strike. WHOA>>>>>>
Below is the result of that strike.
THursday AM, the wind was blowing a little bit so I headed for Shermans Pt to see what I could see in the Reach.
Marked a number of fish between the top of Shermans Weed bed and the lighthouse, Marked a number to the west of the weedbed in 28', nothing down by the buoy. Trolled the Orange Uzick over the weed bed and in 9-10 feet had a great strike. NOw the wind is blowiong harder and the fish is pulling harder. End of story - 9 lb Sheepshead in the net.
Trolled a lure over Kens' Mountain, marked some fish over there, trolled across the Reach with 3 foot waves. MArked fish on the line from Thompsons Pt to the Yellow Can in 35 feet.
Unable to fish Thompsons Cove as the fish was blowing around the point and with the 1.5 - 2.0 foot drop in the water, the earlier hot spots have not produced.
Trolled back from Witlow PT (I think) to the Old Church.
NOW IT"S REALLY BLOWING. LIke the waves are now 4 feet behind me, Time to head for the hills. Back to Camp at 1330.
Fished again for an hour 1730-1830 but still windy and no boat control. Call it a quits.
Back on the 5th of October - Off to New Brunswick for three days on the Miramichi and some fly fishing for Atl Salmon.
