One Friday evening I was in two minds either stay home, eat and sleep out feeling miserable at the end of the day or travel 3 hours to BOQ one way and spend some time on ice try some luck with the eyes. Weather forecast had some snow in GTA but Napanee was -4C sunny/cloudy. Eventually decided to call my great friend Khan and see if he and QP can take me for a day out. Both guys are spirited fishermen and welcomed the idea. Next call was another fisherman buddy to company, hate driving long hours. We started 9.00 AM from Toronto and idea was to fish late after sunset. Reaching at Khan's place in BOQ at 12, a real brunch was ready with parathas, fried eggs, chickpea palaoo, dahi raieta, mango pickle, nan & aaloo gobi bahji with tea. One has to try very hard not to over eat, such is the level of hospitality. This is one pre-condition of every time I visit the Khans!
We hit on hard water at 2.00 PM, about 4-5 inches of ice, weather was gorgeous, sunny with no wind. It would have been criminal for a fisherman to stay home on such a beautiful day. Quite a good number of groups were already out there.

QP got bit restless and moved fruther to deeper water, another half hour, no action. QP was jigging in a computerised pattern and worth watching from distance combined with body langauge. We could see something coming, bang there you go, the first one a 6 pounder!

http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa3 ... ing017.jpgI started joking with Khan, what are we doing wrong that nothing is hitting us, suddenly Khan hooked a 19" eye.
The sun went down and bite started like wild fire, I got one 19" eye, after few tips from QP.

QP hooked another 6 pounder beauty. It was so pleasing for me to see QP turning into a real pro in walleye !
http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa3 ... ing016.jpg We had 5 walleyes in just 4 hours, what a enjoyable and memorable day? Decided it was time pack and to hit Khan's dinning room for a cup of hot tea and snacks! Great hosts, love to entertain friends! Thanks Buddy!
