I have a eagle cuda 242 unit that I have just purchased the ice ducer for. My question is do you put the ducer under the ice or is in the hole work also? It hasn't come in yet so I was just wondering, any info would be appreciated.

I asked the same question a few days back and was told just under the ice 

Maybe a silly question but what is different (other than the way it is mounted) about the ice ducer that the regular one?

as it was explained to me the signal that the transducers sends out is much like the light beam that a flashlight would show...small from the light getting larger as it goes.. In 15 feet of water the transducer shows a 5 foot circle on the bottom, approximatley.. The farther down you put your transducer the smaller your sight area and the shallower the depth will show....this maybe over simplified but it was the best way for me to understand. Gary
