Hey all. Pretty new to this group, but really glad I found it. I'm what you'd call a from away so please don't hold the fact that I live in Trenton against me. LOL

Anyway, things being the way they are I once again can't afford to insure and licence my sled. I'm wondering just how much of a risk I'd be taking by riding it out on the ice at big bay. I did experience someone riding up and checking the licence stickers for all the sleds out on Weller's a few years back. Is this something done regularly?

Even with snow shoes it's a long walk out under these conditions am I right?

I would not risk it,$285.00 fine for no insurance,plus whatever for no sticker on machine,plus $125.00 if you don't have a helmet.I was stopped coming off the ice one night and checked.

Wayne is right, it's alot cheaper to buy the license and insurance than it is to pay the fine.GL
