there used to be a red bouy at the west end of the narrows, I haven't fished there in quite a few years so I don't know if it's still there, but if it is good rule of thumb stay west of the bouy. I found that out the hard way. I went through the ice on my snowmobile just east of the bouy. yes I was swimming. I was very lucky that some guys in a icehut came running and threw me a line and pulled me onto the ice. Very scary.
Well enough about me.

Good Luck & stay safe.
Dutchie.

Telegraph narrows is not safe even in the coldest of winters, most of the time it's open at the lighthouse.I have not been out this week yet so I can't give you any info on the ice but last time I was out last Thurs.at Haybay and there was a good 6-8" of good ice.

Going over the bridge today, you could see a small open area around the light house, and a big area looking pretty slushy

Thanks everyone for the info. I went out to Deseronto today and it was pretty slushy and sketchy. Ended up heading out at Point Anne where it wasn't much better. Thanks again everyone & take care!
