Hi guys,

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for coming out and having a great time. Initially We were just going to hold the event here at the store and within the last few days....there ended up being 235 tickets sold. I had to scramble on Friday to get the Fish and game club. Thank god...We needed it!

Thank you to Steve Y., Jeff C., Joe P., Dave S. and Obviously my wife for helping me organize the event and get food prepared. Plus we had 5-6 guys Filleting fish. Thank you!

Thank you to Frabill, Normark and Lakewood products for the support and donations.

There ended up being 48 fish caught with an avg. weight around 3.40 lbs. Plus there was another 25-30 fish donated towards the fish Fry. We needed them. There was basically 10 pieces of fish left.

With the Large turnout I added additional prizes that that all combined over $4000. Everyone ended up having a 1 out of 9 chance to win a draw prize valued over $30

The winners of the large hidden weight prizes:
The Frabill Shelter ended up going to Matt Top with a fish that weighed exactly 2.00lbs.
The Strike Master auger went to Dave Nicoles with a fish that weighed 2.97 lbs
The Frabill Ice suit went to Ken Woodley with a fish that wieighed 2.18 lbs.

Next year we will get the event bigger and better yet! (maybe a little better Organized)

Thank you again for the support!

Nice job on the tourny and thanks to all the people that helped put this together.

Couple suggestions for next year if I may.

Do the secret weights first. Everyone will have their own opinion, but I think the grand prize should be the 1st drawn.

Draw prizes should be last with the people that won secret weight prizes not eligable. And these should be made that the person needs to be present to win. It was said multiple times yesterday " Not here redraw" This would also make it easier on yourself not having to lug the leftovers home with you and try to contact the people that won.

It was a great turnout with some great food. I'm sure it will double in size next year.

P.S. Was there a back up plan if not many fish were caught?

I believe, I spent the money on a ticket, like the everyone else I deserve to win a door prize whether I am present or not. Let's remember it was Super Bowl Sunday. football fans would be eager to get home clean up and head to their party or back home to host a party. A lot of people came from out of town and likely wanted to head home before the weather turned nasty. We all paid for that right to win something, that's also why we put contact info down on the ticket stub.

I agree that if you won one of the 3 grand prizes you should be excluded from the draw prizes.

Don't really care, which prizes in what order are drawn.

my 2 cents worth, I have no complaints on how things went but then again I won a draw prize. HaHa.

I had 50 boxes of Kraft diner in the car for the back up if no fish were caught!

Next year there will be some fine tuning. For a first time holding an event like this, I think overall it was great for the 3-4 week of planing. Just imagine if I continued to hold it at the store like initially planed. 235 people standing in the parking lot..... That would suck. I ended up booking the Fish and Game club a few days ago. 70% of all tickets sold were sold in the last 3 days. I was clueless with how many people would turn out. I initially thought of maybe 50-75 people at the most.

Next year will be better planed and bigger yet!

good luck fishing,
