Well today was a first for me, went to Thompsons Point and set up in 18 fow. Pulled lots of small perch then around 5pm I saw a big big mark on the flasher. It hit like a tank, set the hook and started reeling; line went slack and was gone. I rest and tried again and back it came, again it hit like a tank. Reeled it in easy and played it when I had to, did it all right then off it went and snapped the rod then the line. Not sure what it was but I had 10 lb line and a medium rod. Sure got the adrenalin going, thinking it might have been a big pike or drum, never felt a walleye do those kinds of runs before. Long wet slushy walk back today, but still have a good memory of the big one that got away.

Nothin like the adrenaline rush of a big fish!!
My guess would be probably a big pike there but very well could have been a pig of an eye!!
That slush there is wonderful isn't it, a poor older lad got stuck saturday morning on his atv and it took 3 hrs to get him back to shore.
