I don't want to ask how is the fishing because I got skunk up to now. I would like to check the ice is safe or not and is it hard to walk right now? Any ATV path to make easy walk?
I was in Trenton area last week and almost get a heart attack!

I think its going to be tough all over crappie, i would definately consider going to an area with a short walk if you plan on bringing your father

Point Anne was not good last night, (wed) Hard walking, lots of slushy spots when you broke thru, lots of ice, no defined trails, caught 1 perch, cold and nasty, Eric

Thanks for advise and information. As long as the ice is safe enough we will still try to walk for a short distance. I just want to make sure the ice is thick enough.

Thanks again!

lots of ice, lots of snow drifts and descent amount of slush wednesday night. tough walk out in the wind at 3pm but much easier back at 9pm with no 30km/hr gusts. marked tonnes of perch over a weed bed in 17.6 fow and some big eyes. was a slow bite only managed 1 pickeral and 4 perch between 3 of us. further tonight 15 pickeral and 173 perch between3 of us. bite was on like donkey kong. all in 21 fow beside a rockpile surrpounded by ( to our surprise ) lush green weed bed.

Now ya see walleye i do find that funny that last week when you were doing well you didnt post you were doing well but now you are asking if people are doing well in an area lol .......... maybe the people in point anne are doing the same thing the guys at bayside were doing ?? its all good buddy im just picking on you lol I fished mass the other day ago ice was good easy walking in fact but the fish just wernt there, at least the 4 holes i drilled and fished anyways i went to the east off mass park on the other side of point anne same waters different access. I see a few huts there that have been there quite awhile now so my gues is they are catching fish I could be wrong on that as well

I had been fishing bayside and doing well, but the last couple times out i have hardly marked any, not sure if the fish have moved on or if the weather has just shut them down. Last few times tho i had been marking fish about 8-10 feet down and I could look down and see large schools of gar pike swimming by, with even a few people out there snagging the odd one by accident. Anyway I will try point anne tonight and the mouth of the river tomorrow and report back.

Well I made it out to point anne only to look out and get back in my truck looked like 10000 km/h winds anyway i did fish trent river and off weese road over by onderdonks and no luck at all only marked 2 fish in the mouth of the river. Is it just me or is evryone haveing bad luck in the west end, because it produced so well early season and it seens like I am having a hard time even marking fish and i am fishing all over not just one spot. Anyway gonna give aikens, point anne and wellers bay a try this weekend and will report back. Any info would be greatly apprieciated.

P.S no snow at weese road and about 15 inches of ice 10 of wich are black and lots of perch.
