Hey Everyone,

Friday Evening I arrived back home with about half an hour of day light left .. decided to get out and get rid of that itch I had for the past week at school! .. my buddies at school tried pursuading me to go perch fishign at sturgeon but I had to save my luck for the weekend.. Anyways My buddy Jordan saw me unloading my car and stopped by on his way out to fish .. we got talking and before we knew it we were out on the ice.. he landed a nice small eater but that was it for the night .. he told me about the Dew Drop Inn "Jig 4 Cash" Derby he entered for this saturday(today), which usually happens on family day weekend.. feeling good I bought a ticket too like every year.. we made plans to head out in the morning to search for em .. He went off to another location to fish and I went to mine .. we met up at 10 and he had said he missed his fish that bit and I had been able to land 2 .. one shy of 2 pounds and one about 2 pounds.. The derby was a hidden weight of 2-6 pounds .. anyways kinda relieved that I had one to enter we set out to search for em .. marked a few but no takers until 12 o' clock hit .. bam .. I hooked onto a good fish that definately felt over 3 but under 6 pounds .. landed the beauty that seemed about 4-4.5 pounds and relieved I had 2 fish to enter! .. Ended up catching 4 for the morning/afternoon and then Jordan and I headed up to the shop for the weigh ins before 2pm .. Got my fish weighed, one was 2lbs 03oz and the other 4lbs 10oz .. The Chart with the fish weights were brought out and First place hidden weight was 5lbs 1oz .. And Nick Brooks won that with his 5lb on the dot fish .. in my head I was like darnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn, well more like F000000000ckkkkkkkk but anyway I looked at 2nd place and it was I think around 4lbs 07oz and then saw Greg writing my name down for second place and I was like 8O woooooohooooo :D :D :D ... AND then saw the third place weight .. I think it was around 2lbs 10oz .. and then saw Greg writing my name for third place too, GOD DAMN was I ever happy I was just like 8O 8O 8O 8O BRING ON THE MONEYY :o :o :o :o ..ahaha I'm still excited  ... it was an awesome day even with the freakin brutal winds that had me and I bet everyone else on the bay cussin at it  .. I tried going to fish with Al(Trannyman) and Chuck (Grizz) in the PM with no luck cuz of that wind plus since Chris (WalleyeWonder), his wife Rachel (fishfinder), brother-in-law Sam, Gone FIshin' (Randy) and his wife chicked out and must've left for the evening bite  but the wind was just HORRIBLE so I don't blame em! Ended up fishing one of the same holes I fished in this morning and caught 6 eyes from around 2-3 pounds .. great evening bite .. missed many fish but oh well .. anyways I thought I would just share my exciting day with everyone even tho I didn't catch any Hawgs but still managed 10 fish and a few hundred bucks :D

Here's a quick pic of the fish I kept for the day :)

Hope everyone else did good, heard not too many people caught fish this morning/afternoon. Goodluck tomorrow!

Congrats, Aadil . A nice payoff ( $$$ and fish) for braving the elements. Thanks for the report. Hope to get up that way Tues. for a fish.

Good job Aadil, :) :) :)

Good thing you didn't find Grizz & I. I sat on the ice without the hut from 2:30 to 5:30.
Finally got thawed out about 11 pm.  We had fish there but couldn't get them to committ.

We should have tried to find you. Couldn't have been too far away.

Later
Al

Great Job buddy. You deserved a reward for all you have put into fishing over the past couple of years. I may have to hire you for a day to reintroduce me to ice fishing...lol.
Becareful not to show Grizz all our tricks.....lol.

Thanks Guys :D

Bruce, Chris, and Maple it was the same exact spot where we started fishing with Glenn when we all went out in 27FOW .. give it a try! Lots of fish marked.

Husky_Jerk - I'll try not to Jason 8)

Ol Bluedog- funny you say that I stepped in dog poop on the way into shore :(

Al , it was hectic I could barely see ya guys from there but there was a couple of huts out your way and didn't know which one it was, it would've been a crappy late night walk back in all that snow and slush! the snow and wind on everyone's face walking out was like razor-blades! Next time tho!

Jason - you need to stop ploughing the roads and start ploughing the eyes, see ya soon bro :D

Uncle J, stop hiding and get up here to fish before the season is done!! Come next weekend, I should be back down!!

Goodluck everyone!!!

Aadil
