Been fishing the bayside - Montrose area the last couple of weekends and again this morning. 1 perch this morning. Seems to be quite busy up towards the island across from bayside highschool. Not sure if any being caught up that way. Last weekend 3 walleye between 7-10 lbs on sat. but 2 perch on Sun.........go figure. Has been very slow in this area most of season so far with the exception of jumbo perch. Oh well........can't wait for open water fishing now

Fished between montrose and frost rd this aft and nada. Buddies son with us got one eye about 8" long on a champ. Ice is about 8" half black and grey . Odd slush areas. Looking at the warm forecast its gonna be a big slush puppy out there

anyone been out to the bayside narrows? How's the ice conditions? Last time up we had some decent luck around the lighthouse, and witnessed a big 13 come out beside us. Trying to make it up again before march 1!

Hiltzy.....Have not fished that far up yet. The fishing in that area can be amazing at times, not sure if the walleye stage there prior to moving to the river for spawning but late Feb. can be very productive. Saying that anyone who fish's or has fished that area know to be careful of the ice. Even on cold winters the ice can be a foot thick in one spot and a few feet away be mere inchs thick. the current around that island keeps the ice sketchy thats for sure. Just be careful and watch as you poke around that area. Maybe run into ya up that way in another week or so............
