Went 7 for 10 EYES didn't pick up our first eye till Sat night at 12;10 on a rippling red fin gold landed 3 in 1 hr one 23 incher had a tag :) turned out to be M&R tag  Hot bite during the day by the charter boats in Picton Bay north of the cement plant by the white flashing buoy. They were running a black & gold storm bait that looked like a rippling red fin and cc shads 100 ft back with an 1 1/2 ounce weight. Sunday fished over at big bay picked up 5 fish on blue/silver 3/4 ounce hot & tots. Lost a big fish on a tot buried the board thought I was snagged on bottom or big sheep head. Picked up an 8-9 lb on the tots and got 3 fish on a shad wrap SR-9 P / perch pattern. Ran baits near bottom 150 ft back and clipped to the board. Didn't find any fish near the 10 ft range over 18-20 ft of water. Must have been all near the bottom chasing perch. :D

Hi,

You gotta help me here! We fished everywhere on Saturday and caught nothing! We concentrated in the Picton area around 1AM starting our trolling route from the Cement plant to the Ferry crossed over and hit all the points including Jackson's point... nothing! We tried every lure including the kitchen sink... have I mentioned nothing.

The last three years have been brutal for us. We use to be more successful fishing the Narrows but it slowed down for us. I was convinced this year it must have been a late spawn which would explain our delema.

I only saw one boat catch near the Cement factory... nothing else.

The water was still pretty cold for opening, and the fish got bashed around pretty good with all the wind and rain late in the week, Friday at noon the waves were still coming in over the dock in Northport. Any fish our guys marked were all deep as well...18-20 feet...If the short ice fishing season is any inidicator the fishing will be good, just be patient.
