Saw this on someones facebook. This cormorant is from the shores of lake Huron close to Kincardine. :evil:

And it's not just the fish they take. Whereever they set up a colony, the vegetation below the roost area is just destroyed. I've seen entire islands where there is not a spec of green anywhere. The smell would gag a maggot. Fortunatley I haven't seen any colonies out this way, just a few single birds, but it's probably going to happen eventually if we don't intervene.

you should see them down in k-town, the brother islands are just about done, 2 off them have zero vegetation on them at all, the 3rd is well on its way to dying.......crazy.....

I back onto the murry canal and watched a cormorant swallow whole a walleye that had to be 1.5-2 lbs..........it was unreal. Get down wind of snake island across from massasauga pt. Not a green plant on it and the smell is beyond. I volunteer 2 skids of shot shells to sit on the islands of presquile'....who's in??.........lol
