Hi guys, looking for some help for Monday. My dad is coming down on Monday, or Sunday night so we can go Monday, and he is looking to go out ice fishing on the bay for the first time, ever! While I have fished the bay for the last two years, I still have not caught a walleye. Wondering if anyone can tell me where it is safe, what's working and where they're bitin'. Gotta save face in front of my dad! Not looking for trophies, would be happy to get into a mess of perch, or some nice eaters! Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks guys,
Brad

umm, as i finaly got my first skunk, twice, thursday (last time i was out), i dont really know what advice to give, the wife, did catch two, one in the morning bite, and one in the evening bite, morning at thompsons , evening at shermans.
best bet i would say would be huffs if the ice conditons are good, you should probly take a trip there sunday to check. but its spot where good eatters and 10 plus pound pigs are both possible, i like the evening bite there 3-6, morning bite 6-10 is decent as well..

well it sounds like the walleye are telling u to take ur dad perchin

I have caught perch everywhere i have been on the bay, once u r outside of the prime times start to concentrate on the perch.....smaller spoon to attract and have some jigs and raps ready in case they don't want the spoons. some small minnows and maggots and the gulp stuff is good too.

my best success was on big bay(wager, big island) on the flat over top of some weeds.....i saw it on my vex 1 foot shallower. i think there was a report saying the ice was ok there. a pink jig with some gulp maggots was the ticket that day.

oh i usually drill anywhere from 1 to 50 holes when i go perchin so a 6" or less auger is nice if u don't have a power.....and then u will get the biggest eye of ur life when u have a 4.5" hole.lol

Hi Skunked again,
Was out off shermans point sat, there was 9`of ice, and good walking coditions. We caught a 5.5 and a small walleye. We weren`t there for prime time as the wind pushed us off. Some some fish on the lowrance that didn`t bite also. A few perch, but nothing big,
