i have been there, this pic is from yesturday, you should be able to see the big ice chunks floating, how ever i did see a boat go flying down that way. the draw bridge down town is to the right, 401 to the left.

elevator bay is way over rated, compared to the other spots out there, probly because of the heavy fishing pressure it gets.. there is good fish there thou.

Having only been able to fish from shore around town up until a couple years ago, Elevator Bay was the go to for big fish. If you go down along the condos, and out onto the pier area (which would technically be trespassing) there are big pike and bass to be caught. We even got an 8 pound eye out of there. Not once in the probably 100 times i have fished there have I ever been asked to leave.

i have seen people fishing there before, never fished that spot from land, allways from boat. there is lots of structure, etc. i do think its still early yet to fish there thou, the mudcat run should start soon. and browns may come into the bay.
how ever there is still a big ice chunk floating in there, as of 7am this morning

I'm new to Kingston as well and I've just started shore fishing and have tried some of these spots with little or no luck.

I've also tried Portsmouth Olympic harbor. Lots of docs and have seen carp, pike and bass there. Lots of parking too and the road, on the prison side, goes right up to a park where you can rest after fishing.

This site is a great find. Thanks and keep it coming. :D

Keep trying. In some of the spots mentioned the action will start to heat up as the water temps cool. Good luck & welcome to the board. Let us know how you make out.

Still at it with no luck but not about to quit.

Had full eight hours of it yesterday and am going out tonight for a while.

Some pictures of lures lost and hope tested:

Lake ontario park is near portsmouth ave. It was pretty shallow so I'm surprised there are big pike. May have to try it tomorrow!

I watched this on the Fishing Network and wanted to share it. It shows them fishing in elevator bay and Portsmouth.
