Its been a long time since the winter let go of its hard water fun and I got a coll from a long lost friend Jason. (Walleye Wizard)..... After a lil him and haw about summer time fishing we agreed to get out for a fish and today was the day. as a rule you cant get Jason to stop fishing walleye unttil the sun goes down but i found out this is only true when the water is frozen solid. apparently he is quite the pike/bass guy in the summer months so we agreed since bass isnt open then pike it would be.
Well boys i gotta tell you the boy knows his pike just as good as he knows his hardwater walleye because we litterly slammed the pike today. I know sometimes my stories seem a lil far fetched, and often hard to believe but today I tell no fishy tails when I say we filled the boat with over 200 pounds of hard hitting tackle busting pike.......My only brag for the day was that I put the first pike in the boat and boys it was a nice one at that tilling the scales at well over 12 pounds.

. thats all it took Jason knew i was here to play and he took off and never looked back of course i lost about an hours worth of fishing simply because i had to net so many of his fish for him and of course since all the fish went back I had tyo take pictures, This i didnt realize until I checked my camera and see there is like only 2 fish of the many I cought but over a dozen pictures of jason holding up pike lol
....... im surwe you guys are thinking sure sure so they cought alot of hammer handles. and snot rockets but buys I dont think we cought more than 5 pike UNDER 4 pounds.. in fact quite the oppisit....... I lost count actually of how many we cought combined but i would have to say it was over 30 pike in less than 4 hours. and of the 30 fish 9 of them were over 10 pounds of course 5 MAYBE 6 of the nine were cought by jason. you know the guy who drives the boat gets the fist cast right lol .
You know you are having a good day when you land 7-8 pound fish and say its just a small one and the only way I could really get back in the race was to either cut Jasons line or stop netting his fish.......I chose the latter. lol
Just to show you look at the marks on this fish and would you believe it was a 6 pound pike!!

Jason with a nice SMALL pike!!

I took a pic of this fish because never seen a mouth like this one it was like a blue green in color the pic dosnt really do much justace to the color but you can definatly see it and of all the fish we cought today this was the only one with that color in its mouth!
Image
Here is the big fish of the day. now anyone who knows Jason also knows he is not a very tall guy lol. but he is almost as wide as he is tall with a heart of gold and a passion for fishing like none other!! this fish went 15 pounds boysand jason really needs to get a bigger net lol

sure looked like bite marks to me........ and many of the fish we cought were scared up. but this one was very fresh............ not real sure how they would get sores like that but i cant say im 100 % positive either way to be honist with you! I just assumed it tangeled with something....... we did see a huge fish we were pretty sure to be a musky but couldnt get it to take.

The sores on that one fish are lymphosarcoma (spelling may be off) but it is found on pike and muskie.

Well as everyone can see I have traded my little brown buddy (quinte prince) in for a old scuffy buddy. I figured prince was getting to know to many of my hot spots and figured I would be safe taking Grizzly there seeing he would forget how to find the honey hole down the road. Lol
I can honestly say I felt like we were fishing some remote fly in pike adventure. Almost every other cast would bring some form of excitement.
Had the time of my life and shared lots of laughs. I look forward to doing it again soon.
P.s. Grizzly must have nicked my line before he left as I lost my favorite lure the next day!!!!!

Pffft! .......... you young whipper snappers are all alike. No Respect I tell you NO RESPECT!!
