Quinte Fishing

Quick question. Will the slot size of Walleye be inforced on the aboridginal fisherman/gillnetters? Or can they simply still net/spear any and all fish that spawn?

Funny, I don't think the spear fishers practice C&R, and since they keep how ever many they want, I don't imagine that they'd be too concerned about slot sizes. In fact, the fish that they target are probably the very ones that everyone else is throwing back because they are in the slot. Probably the best size to keep (in terms of healthy fish and nice sized fillets), but the law says to put them back. I don't think the spear fishers care about anything but themselves. One day they'll learn, hopefully it's not because the walleye are gone...
