Walleye Report- September 11th

Hey Everybody,

A quick report from yesterday..

As weeds have begun to die off our weed line crank bite went along with it. Having a hunch that the fish weren't too far off the weed beds, we decided to target them trolling. Within 5 minutes of setting the boards out, one fired! I was sure it was a sheep head but I was surprisingly mistaken. Much to our delight is was a solid 11lb Eyeball. From there on, the action was consistent. From 8am to 1pm, we went 12-16 and the size ranged from 7lb-11lb.

Our pattern consisted of trolling Reef Runners 90 feet back, directly adjacent to whatever green weeds we could find. As a note, we could find no decent weed growth west of the Ferry.

Hey Dave..

I'm certain the two bigger girls are not resident fish however the 6-8's are in my opinion. The difference in skin tone leads me to believe that..

Glad you got on them and dialled in the bite. It is great to see my discussion with you on location and technique worked out for you and your clients.

Stay on them as they like to move around...

Nice Walleyes! I'm new to the BOQ and I'm planning on doing the trip there from Ottawa this weekend and give it a shot. Anybody got any pointers to give out? I was told to try reach so I was planning on dropping my boat in the water somewhere near the Glenora ferry and troll along the shoreline, any spots nearby or what depth should I be looking at?
